AI Disclosure
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Hypothesis AI uses artificial intelligence in many parts of the Services. This page says where, what can go wrong, and what that means for how you use what you read. It forms part of our Terms of Use: by creating an account or using the Services, you confirm that you have read and agree to it.
1. Where AI is used
The Services use large language models, including models run by our third-party AI/LLM service provider, to produce:
- News summaries and explanations. Short summaries of news stories, and explanations of what may be behind a move in a stock you follow or hold, written by a model from the news, filings and market data we have ingested.
- Analysis and other generated text. Any analysis, commentary, classification, ranking or label that the Services describe as AI-generated or AI-assisted.
- Answers to your questions. Responses to prompts and questions you submit to AI features. How we handle what you submit is described in our Privacy Policy.
Much of this is generated and published automatically, without a person reviewing each output before you see it.
2. Where AI is not used
Prices, volumes, quotes and other Market Data are licensed from third-party providers and shown as received; they are not produced by a model. Posts, comments and calls made by other members are written by those members. When one of these is wrong, it is because the source, the member, or our processing of it is wrong, not because a model invented it.
3. AI makes mistakes
Language models make confident mistakes, and AI output in the Services may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or misleading. In particular, a model may:
- state facts, figures, dates or quotations that are wrong or that do not appear in any source (often called “hallucination”);
- attach a story to the wrong company, especially where company names or tickers are similar;
- attribute a price move to the most visible story when the real cause was something else, or was not in the news at all;
- misread tone, sarcasm, hedged language or an ambiguous headline;
- leave out context that would change the meaning of a story; or
- rely on news or data that has since been corrected, updated or superseded.
We work to reduce these errors, but we do not claim that any AI output is accurate, and we cannot catch every mistake before it reaches you. Treat every AI output as a starting point to check against the original sources, not as a conclusion to act on. If you spot an error, tell us at support@hpts.ai and we will look into it.
4. What this is not
This is research. It is not investment advice. The summaries, explanations, analysis, answers and community activity in the Services — none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or financial planner. We do not custody assets, execute trades, or charge based on performance. We are a financial information service; you make your own decisions.
5. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for independently verifying any AI output and for every decision you make, including any decision to trade. Do not rely on AI output for trading or any other time-sensitive or financially significant decision. If you need advice for your own circumstances, consult a qualified, licensed professional. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on AI output, as set out in the Disclaimers and Limitation on Liability sections of our Terms of Use.
6. Changes
The models we use, and the parts of the Services they power, will change over time. We will update this page when they do, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Questions about this page can be sent to legal@hpts.ai.
